12/3/09 PERFORMANCE AT THE CAMEO THEATRE
"Mix 2 parts jam, 2 parts groove, 1 part jazz and 2 parts rock and there you have it, Decoy Beat! When I saw them perform on the night of December 3rd at the Cameo, I was at work, enjoying the benefits of working for a venue and seeing the fruits of my labor; Let me say that I was definitely the utter opposite of disappointed that I had to sit through their set. Being half hippy and half rocker myself, I really wanted to throw on a flow-y skirt, kick off my shoes and let their music take me over. Unfortunately I was on door duty. Next time Decoy Beat, I will be “that girl” on the floor!
With John Kastrinos on guitar, Jeremy Birdsall on bass and keys and the amazingly youthfully talented Glenn Kastrinos on drums, this band will have you swaying, spinning and even banging your head ever so slightly to their unique mix of instrumental jazz, jam and rock sounds. Decoy Beat lets you completely groove and then full on starts jamming, inciting hoots and hollers from the crowd as their sonic energy hits their fans and causes them to helplessly scream along with the build-ups of their music.
